Well...

I swear I’m not being lazy this time, we just have no submissions, so I’ll take advantage of this situation.

An anon commented saying that some things are starting to get repetative so my question is: What do you want to see less of? And is there anything extra I should start posting to keep this blog a little more interesting?

Hey. I've read several pages into your blog and noticed that a lot of the posts are basically just repeating three or four different points (some with nearly the same phrasing, too.) A suggestion- if the secret is already out there, it does not need to be made again.

I was wondering when this was going to start happening actually. I’ll find a way to care for that soon, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Hi there! I have always admired steampunk from afar, but I've been looking into it more lately and found conventions coming my way in a few months and would love to get involved. I just don't know where to start and how to go about this. If you have any advice, it would be very much appreciated!

First, you’ll need the basics which consists (in my mind) of a blouse, vest, jacket, skirt/pants, tights/stockings, a hat and shoes.
If you sew you can find a Butterick pattern for a blouse and Simplicity actually had a steampunk pattern for this past Halloween. You can also google some DIY stuff for spats and the like if you sew.

If you can’t sew I’d go to a thrift shop like Goodwill and pick some items out that you can alter (take in sleeves, bring up the length of skirts, change buttons) and you can go about it that way.
If you go to a thrift shop try to look at items with new eyes, think outside the box, that will help you see the possibilities.

I hope that helped even a little bit, just have fun with it, steampunk is an open idea.
